The man, 49, was working inside a wind turbine at Biala wind farm late yesterday afternoon when he fell 10 metres down. He sustained serious chest injuries as well as shoulder and leg injuries.
Police Rescue performed a vertical rescue with a stokes litter (rescue basket). The man was transported to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
The accident is under investigation by Safe Work NSW.
A spokesperson from Safe Work NSW said they were “investigating after reports that a man was injured while working on a wind turbine in Biala yesterday”.
The man is currently on road via ambulance to Canberra Hospital.
Emergency services are on the scene after a man fell into a wind tower at Biala wind farm on Grabben Gullen Road.
The 50-year-old man fell 10 metres down at around 4pm today. Police, Ambulance and Fire and Rescue are on scene with a rescue helicopter on its way.
Police Rescue crews are currently performing a vertical rescue.
The man is believed to have shoulder and leg injuries.
